Memory Quilts

Memory quilts are custom made from a collection of special clothing items pieced together to celebrate memorable moments, or the life of a loved one. Most memory quilts are usually made from clothing collected over a span of many years. Each quilt takes on the personality of the personal items, showcasing achievements, styles, events, and causes that celebrate each individual's unique journey.
At Quilting by Janie, each memory quilt has its own distinctive design. Every quilt is an original, but one of our specialties is incorporating fabric items that make each quilt a truly unique keepsake. memory quilts can be created from military uniforms, flags, dress ties, wedding dresses, and suits just to name a few of the non-standard clothing items that can be sewn into their memory quilt.
There are many reasons people make memory quilts, such as what to do with special clothing like a concert t-shirt, a memento of a special event like your child's athletic shirts or jerseys, or gymnastic clothing. By using small, decorative pieces of each item throughout the quilt, each special item will be preserved and remembered in one beautiful custom keepsake.
